| Sunrays Shut Out Mammoths, 4-0 | Tampa Bay picked up a win at Sunrays Field, bumping off the Montreal Mammoths, 4-0. Pitcher Rémy Girard was a major reason the Sunrays emerged victorious. The Sunrays win now puts them at 29-22.
Zeleke Maskini had a big solo home run for the Sunrays in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Tampa Bay leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Fred Cornett, who finished 3rd in the UL in innings pitched with 147.1 last year, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Sunrays on top, 2-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Maskini told the Tampa Bay Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
