Romero was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Hawks. Yan Lopez, the winner, improved to 7-2. He held the Pioneers to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 50-19.
Chicago used the hitting of Juan Chico to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hawks on top, 4-0. For the game, Chico had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Romero.
