| Cornett Leads Montreal to 3-2 Win | The Montreal Mammoths converted a terrific effort from starter Fred Cornett into a win over the Leon Toltecs at Mammoths Field. The Mammoths won the game by a final score of 3-2. Scott Pierce closed it out for Montreal, earning his 15th save. The win puts Montreal at 35-58.
Cornett picked up the win. He's now 6-5, after putting the Leon offense in the deep freeze. Over 7 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 2 hits.
"Fred was Fred," said Mammoths manager David Fields. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
