| Raucous Mammoths Field Crowd Propels Mammoths to 5-3 Victory; Series Tied at 1 | San Francisco third baseman Cody Cherry pounded Montreal Mammoths pitchers at Mammoths Field, but it was not enough to keep the Pioneers from falling, 5-3, in Game 2 of the Championship Series. Cherry slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, though he couldn't prevent the Pioneers from slipping into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when right fielder Arturo Lara, who is a two-time All-Star, hit a double. The Mammoths went on to win.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Lara.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, August 15th , 2025 at Pioneers Park in San Francisco.
