| DuBois Homers Twice in 5-1 Mammoths Win | The Montreal Mammoths defeated the Toronto Mounties, 5-1. Doing his part was shortstop Jay DuBois, who went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Zackery Stocker earned the win to go to 5-6. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. The Mammoths raised their record to 30-52.
Bill Meyer had a big 2-run double for the Mammoths in the bottom of the first inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from Angel Lopez, who is tied for 5th in the UL in strikeouts with 113, and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mammoths ahead, 3-0.
"I'm never the type of guy that will go in there and flip the table," Toronto manager David Fields said. "At this point, it's up to the players to say 'This is not good enough.'"
